proftpd-1.2.6rc2: description + notes
ProFTPD is an FTP daemon for Unix and Unix-like operating systems.
The default configuration file for ProFTPD can be found in /usr/freeware/proftpd/etc/proftpd.conf. This file assumes that ProFTPD will be invoked by inetd each time a connection to the FTP service is made. You will therefore need to change the ftp entry in /etc/inetd.conf as follows:
ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/freeware/proftpd/sbin/proftpd /usr/freeware/proftpd/sbin/proftpd
(You may of course wish to modify the above line to make use of TCP Wrappers.)
Full documentation for ProFTPD, including configuration and FAQs, is available in /usr/freeware/doc/proftpd/ or at its home page.
